The Foundation: People, Thoughts, and Systems
There are things in this world that make you think and try to figure out a better way. I believe change is coming, but I don't know what form that is going to take. I can see it in people's daily lives and with the decisions they make. What used to work is no longer working. How we run our lives is crumbling before us. For some people I think the floor is crumbling out from under them, but they are not aware of it until they can no longer stand.
I see systems that are broken from government to health care to school systems. They are all broken and need to be fixed from the bottom up. How do we fix all these problem though? I don't have the answer or the magic bullet. I believe there is too much corruption in the current systems to fix things without just slapping a band-aid over it. How do we fix something so we have a stable foundation? Something for the next generation to build and improve upon? You are jaded if they do not see the problem. How long can we wait to fix the systems before nothing works or we live in a state with pretend freedoms?
What has sparked these thoughts is a podcast I listen to by Dan Carlin called "Common Sense." His latest show is "Put up or Shut up." If you want to listen you can find it on iTunes or go to this link: http://www.dancarlin.com/disp.php/csarchive. I think he brings up many good points. We need viable leaders, but we all have a say in how things can be fixed. It will take the collective and not just one person. One person can easily be persuaded (...Another protestor has crossed the line to find, the money's on the other side...Green Day) to stop what they are doing, but if "we the people" say how things need to be changed, then that change will happen, but the point is that it will take the collective and not just one group. The change needs to span across many different beliefs and cultures and benefit the majority and not just a select group. I believe this is possible if we all work together.
Don't know what to do? We are all good at something. Contribute your skills and thoughts to groups that are in need of reform. Start blogging. Start communicating through Twitter and Facebook to people who have already started this conversation. The momentum will build and things will start to happen.
I'm not a political activist or a political leader. My area of expertise in graphic design and energy healing. What I do know is that we can't (myself included) keep seeing how systems are broken and wonder why nothing is changing. That is like saying I want a new car, but doing nothing to get the new car. Part of the law of manifestation is that you need to create action because inaction creates no movement. Inaction does not bring your idea or thoughts into reality. If we want change and we want to fix the flaws we see, then we (the collective) need to get off our asses and do something about it.
All I can offer as an idea is to contribute what skills we have to offer and continue with the networking of people. The more people who are consciously trying to change the world, then we will begin to see those changes in action.
